ABOUT

Alison Horvitz is a contemporary painter.  Her work has been included in selected juried exhibitions such as the Mattatuck Museum,  Silvermine  Arts  Center, the Stamford Art Museum in CT., as well as at the Nave Gallery, Arts Worcester, Colo Colo Gallery, Grimshaw-Gudewicz Gallery, Attleboro Art Museum, Danforth Museum, Samson Gallery, Cambridge Art Association, South Shore Art Center, and Galatea Fine Art,  Gallery 263, in MA ., the The Pen and Brush,  First Street Gallery,  Atlantic Gallery and The Affordable Art Fair, in NYC,  the Bristol Art Museum, Deblois Gallery and The Jamestown Art Center, in Rhode Island. Alison also exhibited at Northern Kentucky University, the Rome Art Coterie in Georgia, and Women’s Made Gallery, in Chicago.

Horvitz studied painting at RISD, UMass at Dartmouth, and Boston University.  She was awarded a residency at The Vermont Studio Center, in VT.  For many years, she has been the recipient of an artist stipend from the Fall River Cultural Council, which is part of the Massachusetts Cultural Council . Her work has been included in Still Point Magazine and Studio Visit Magazine. 

Recently, Alison completed a month long residency in Italy, at La Macina de Cresi, in Greves, Italy.

She maintains a studio in Fall River, MA.
